@jack Owning your own data will keep getting bigger and easier with BSV. Any company that relies on data transparency such as United Health for patient records will benefit greatly from leveraging the power of BSV for as a tamper-proof and secure database. Records stored on BSV become easily accessible, efficient and immutable.

This might be unpopular but - TAX COLLECTION - Automatically. The Govt wastes more money than anyone so streamlining tax collection could be a huge revenue source. Sales taxes could be automatically collected with transactions logged on the block chain by using a blockchain enabled debit card when purchases are made with taxes directly remitted to the states (In USA). Income taxes can be the same by having paychecks deposited to the same. People could "log in" to their blockchain debit card and pay their bills and have everything recorded on the blockchain without having to go crazy saving receipts.

Paying taxes wouldn't be nearly as unpopular if governments were as accountable as they expect citizens to be.
satoshisdisciple replied:
If taxes became more efficient, maybe a supporter of this system, politician, could actually propose lowering tax rates therefore making it seem more popular to the public.
jack replied:
What would the tax rate be on tips?
bitcoinrealist replied:
You guys have it all wrong. Make it more efficient for governments to account for the money they take already from citizens. THEN we talk about making taxation efficient. Otherwise, you add legitimacy to the argument that taxation is theft, and that governments can only be parasites that grow until they collapse from their own corruption and inefficiency.
ctblizzard replied:
@Jack - tips was actually a big area where improvement/change could help everyone. A lot of tips go unreported obviously, but the paperwork and accounting is work for the companies. Employees at fast food restaurants, often working for lower wages hardly ever get tips but if they had a handcash wallet it would be easy people could tip, and the taxes could go directly to Govt sidestepping all the paperwork and giving the employee their money directly. With all the streamlining in taxation it would make sense to do this and lower tax rates across the board as more taxes are collected with less time and worry over reporting. I get the criticism above in making Govt more accountable first but these are taxes we are paying anyway. In my opinion it will be a long time until Govt is accountable in any fashion through a blockchain, though people have talked about transparency for years...

Fair tax read the book by Neil Botrz and Hal Linder is best answer. Consumption tax makes everyone pay taxes. No payroll tax removed and 23 % tax on end products. That way nobody could escape taxes including wealthy. No tax on used items only taxed once. Not taxed on essential life items. Great plan.
satoshisdisciple replied:
Sounds like a good read! So could that relate to Bitcoin by simply having a tiny taxable amount on txs? Or a different model?
kpdad72 replied:
I dont see why not. Embed the Tax to paid when product is purchased at consumer level. If Criminals drug sales were to slip through bitcoin the tax on final consumption cannot be escaped by anyone. Then there is the trail of the sales to boot. Start cleaning up loop holes and BSV helps a lot with that.

A new application stack that supplants AWS etc by offering integrated value which the legacy internet's Cloud can never offer. The legacy internet is an epic failure in the sense that the vast majority of applications of the last 15 years were never profitable. All value is flowing to platform owners - primarily Amazon, Google, Facebook, Apple. Even successful apps have been subsidized by existing businesses. e.g. your airlines app and your banking app or subsidized by investment capital. People might expect user transition to be slow, but I am saying that apps will run from the legacy internet once they have superior offerings. What do they say in Texas? "I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could" That's what application companies will be saying about BSV in 5 years.

People don't bring the economic arguments to computing enough. As if economics is limited to the money domain and technology arguments are for the computing domain. CSW on the other hand , makes these points all the time. I believe people just don't listen well enough. People will ask him a technical question and he'll answer it economically or they will ask him a money question and he'll answer it with a technical response. I think half the people here it go, "Oh Craig, he didn't answer the question again" CSW said (paraphrasing), the legacy internet is cheap to attack and expensive to defend. This Bitcoin computing is expensive to attack and cheap to defend. So if you are an App company, your costs on the legacy internet were expensive. And now they will be cheap. Anybody who thinks about business costs between the models, this is very true. In the past, a successful app was Unicorn status, usually determined by how sticky it was or how much of a silo of user data had built. I hope what we see down the road, a successful app is a profitable one well-used and appreciated by its users.

I just rethink again. The biggest value of the BSV just only come from Tokenization. If Fiat Currencies, Equities, Commodities, and Bonds are Tokenized in BSV platform and then priced by BSV as main pair, that will give the biggest value to BSV.

BSV Microtransactions with zero or negligible fees can lead to empower billions of people in need around the world. e.g. Collecting $.01 everday($0.30 a month) from 1million people can provide $300k a month can give $30 to 10,000 people a month in Africa(excluding south Africa).. where average per capita income income is $315 i.e $26.15 a month. There can be several use case on this line. P2P microtransactions can revolutionize the world for better. Community network(business and social) where value can be attached to actions(like, share, tag). Imagine Instagram app had like, share, and tags have value attached through BSV microtransactions. I'm really interested for a app like that for my business community with an inbuilt ecommerce store for there unique business needs.

Not my idea, but I believe this is the one. And that's how I see it: Requirements: 1) Easy to embed web-site js library or server plugin to: a) protect website content behind a micropayment paywall. b) ability for end-users to choose whether to see ads on the website, or do micropayment each visit. 2) browser BSV wallet plugin with spendable cash for this scenario. So basically similar to moneybutton plugin, but with user-friendly and simple as f-k interface to opt-in for no ads, but content as well to deposit cash. Websites that support this technology should show special icon to indicate that they support no-ad micropayments to opt-in. After some time, when majority of internet will have this feature implemented, we may switch to micropayment-by-default behavior and don't ask user to opt-in at all. I'd like to see internet without ads and subscriptions... what a wonderful world. How many websites do we have in Internet? How many web page requests per second? Multiply this by 10 satoshi, you'll get the picture of revenue ;)

Tokenizing real world assetts and services will be number one. This is because there are just too many benefits to tokenizing. If you allow trading, it results in very useful price discovery. If the tokens are non-fungible, the chain of custody/custody records are invaluable. What people don't realize is that only a scaled Bitcoin is useful towards this end.

“The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that’s required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. We have to trust them with our privacy, trust them not to let identity thieves drain our accounts.” –Satoshi Nakamoto, Founder of Bitcoin

Managing and sourcing data for clinical research. In 5 years: - We'll have onchain IDs for our clinical data. Researchers can gather data at the click of a button which filters out eligible participants based on pre-filled ethical consent, demographics, health parameters, etc. Their main cost will be paying participants for data access. Todays inefficient, labour intensive "RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS" emails will be long gone. - Living itself becomes a secondary income stream for all humans. BSV Tx volume enables widespread biometric IOT. Not only health conditions, but data from normal daily activity can be tracked and sold. I.e. measuring quality of inhaled air in a location to evaluate a the effect of a new exhaust emissions policy. - People born with rare and serious conditions would have in-demand data to sell for more. The market somewhat compensates for their misfortune. It's like capitalist disability benefits.

powping is so important because it's the first example of txs being used as data packet objects.\n There's going to be a plethora of fundamental "electronic data" metanet tree types like EHR Data (Electronic Health Record Data) for all kinds of information. E.g. EEDUR Data (Electronic Education Record Data).\n But, probably the biggest will be IIOT (I just watched the 4th ep of The Theory of Bitcoin) which will help create clean ML data so everything can move towards truly dynamic model, i.e. machines will be able to communicate directly with each other and share their data privately and securely (in non-human readable form) so they'll have a dynamic and constantly updated data set to tune themselves

Great question, Jack! I think this can be answered in two parts. The largest addressable market and revenue-generating use case in BSV, IMO, is digital infrastructure (mining at the top) assuming the BSV network continues to grow. For example and my thought process, look no further than AWS' revenue growth over the 15 years they've been in the market. But, I don't think that's the question you're necessarily asking (but maybe you are). In terms of a specific vertical use case, I think that BSV is positioned well for corporate-level adoption (which drives rev $$$) in the supply chain management space (i.e. UNISOT). The unique differentiator for BSV in this scenario is the ability to leverage an immutable and public database with proper logic to ensure that all parties involved in the EDI pipeline and a complex supply chain network are meeting their obligations in a timely fashion and subsequently compensated in the appropriate manner in real-time. This can eliminate costly mistakes and time spent reconciling "accounts" on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. Which returns ROI that corporations are willing to listen to. This real-world value coupled with the growth of digital commerce and digital supply chains (accented and accelerated by coronavirus) gives this space a great shot to leverage BSV's unique advantages in a corporate setting.

I think there are basically 2 groups: (we need line breaks@unwriter :) 1️⃣ Existing businesses that can cut costs dramatically by utilizing bitcoins ability to enable secure transactions for fractions of a cent. So, if we look at the companies with the largest annual revenue in general and find those who can make the largest profit from saving something like 99% on transaction costs - as long as BSV can deliver on scaling promises - those companies will generate the most annual revenue by using BSV. I don't know the exact numbers but I'd assume it to be industries primarily involved with financial transactions i.e. Banking, Trading etc. 2️⃣ New business models that can monetize Bitcoins ability for secure micropayments. For the first time, micropayments enable a "charge as you comsume-model" for all products and services that can be tracked digitally. So the success depends on the potential market size for the "prepaid"-model over the "flatrate"-model. If we can put a number on the percentage of users who prefer pay-to-use over flatrate consumption, we can approximate the revenue potential of BSV-based businesses by looking at existing companies. If 10% of netflix customers prefer pay-to-use, a competitor could gain 10% of their market cap. If its larger than 50% it gets interesting. ;) And of industries using new tech AI, IOT, AR to throw a few buzzwords into the mix.
