I like the "lo-fi hiphop" music genre, they all sound great, but is it just me who think they're also the least creative? All they do is take some retro music sample from the 70s or 80s and add some beats on top. Most of them don't even have lyrics so it's literally just mashing a sample loop with ableton live beats.

Nujabes is the pioneer. Instead of recommending a song I will recommend a music video. This one is addictive https://youtube.com/watch?v=KAxgpHWtLC0

Nice
Not to sound like a wank but its about creating a vibe/atmosphere. Its a subtle genre that requires the listener to have depth even if the track doesn't always.
musiq replied:
Oh yeah don't get me wrong I absolutely love the genre and listen everyday :)
Quite good for YouTube videos though for background. I am starting to use them for my paramotor videos.
Sometimes that's all you need ;)
