If you watch the BBC recently there was a series of films 🎥 called Small Axe, which was directed by Steve McQueen of 12 Years a Slave fame. They were all stories based on real life experiences about the hardships faced by the West Indian community in London, set between the years of 1969 and 1982. John Boyega of Star Wars fame was in episode 3 entitled Red, White and Blue, he was playing the part of Leroy Logan one of the first West Indian police officers in the London police force. I had a very tiny part in episode 5 entitled Education. I was playing the part of the Head Masters Secretary and had a very small line which was ‘Mrs Smith, the Headmaster will see you know’ you could see me for about 1.5 seconds as I opened the door for Mrs Smith and he son Kingsley. It is about 10 minutes into the episode. It would be interesting to know if any of you saw the series, if you have not I highly recommend it. It was the last piece of TV that I managed to film before Covid took the world by storm. Steve McQueen was so nice to work with very easy to talk to very sweet and had a lovely warm glow to him, it would be really nice to be able to work with him again in the future on one of his other projects. Here is a picture of me in my costume.
